Yıldız Technical University
We renewed the web infrastructure of Yıldız Technical University, a leading institution with a mission to train individuals who contribute to society’s needs and national competitiveness, implement innovative ideas and practices, and achieve excellence in education, teaching, and research at an international level, building on a history spanning over 111 years.
We developed the corporate website of Yıldız Technical University, along with numerous faculty and program websites, using Drupal’s multisite infrastructure. The Drupal multisite setup allows institutions to manage multiple sites more efficiently, achieving higher performance at lower costs. All sites belonging to Yıldız Technical University were built on a single Drupal core through this multisite infrastructure.
Dark mode has become a popular design trend in recent years. On Yıldız Technical University’s website, we implemented dark mode, transforming the website’s background to black or dark tones to provide a less bright and less eye-straining appearance. The growing use of dark mode stems from the fact that screen brightness, especially on mobile devices, can cause eye strain and disrupt sleep. Therefore, users can reduce eye fatigue by choosing dark mode on the Yıldız Technical website. In addition to offering an aesthetic and modern look, dark mode helps the university present a more professional image. Because visitors can toggle dark mode on and off according to their preference, it provides a more user-friendly experience. Beyond visual appeal, dark mode also contributes to energy savings and supports eye health.
On the YTU website, we developed a structure that welcomes visitors with a full-screen visual or video, followed by news, announcements, and events related to the university’s agenda. The homepage also highlights key content specific to the university. Using a mega menu, the entire site’s menu structure is fully displayed, allowing visitors to easily navigate and access the content they are looking for.
Built on the Drupal platform, the Yıldız Technical University website provides a more efficient user experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, while strengthening the university’s digital presence.
